The student will gain speed and accuracy in reading phrases. Cards are placed face down. Taking turns with a partner, the student flips over the phrase card and reads it. If they get it correct, they place it on the “YES” card. If one or more words is read incorrectly, they place it on the “NO” card. The students see how many phrases they can read correctly within one-minute.
This intervention pairs well with any kind of Oral Reading Fluency progress monitoring.
